2018 Coaches
Head Coach Caroline Wardlow
Caroline holds a BA in mathematics and history from Colgate University. She rowed at Colgate in the V8 under the tutelage of Coach Greg Kruczynski. Caroline captained the team in her senior year and led a rebuild to ensure the future success of the program. She teaches Integrated Math III and Precalculus and is the assistant coach to the Girls JV Soccer team at Pomfret.
Assistant Coach Charlotte McMahon
Originally from England, Charlotte earned a B.A. from London College of Communication, and then crossed the big pond to earn a M.A.T. in Teaching from Colgate University. New to Pomfret this academic year, Charlotte and her husband, Quinn, spent three years at Hampton Roads Academy in Virginia. Charlotte teaches in the English Department at Pomfret. Seasoned in boating, Charlotte spends every summer in New Hampshire at her in-laws summer camp, Camp Moosilauke, instructing waterskiing, wake-boarding and wake-surfing.
Assistant Coach Katie Wells
Katie holds a BA from Bowdoin College and a Masters degree from the University of Virginia. She has taught at Charlotte Country Day School from 2010-2013 and began teaching at Pomfret School in 2013. Katie rowed port under Coach Gil Birney at Bowdoin College, competing in the varsity four boat at the Head of the Charles and Dad Vail Regattas. Katie teaches Advanced American History and Honors American Studies at Pomfret School and serves as the faculty advisor for the GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) on campus. Katie is married to Katy Field who is pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Connecticut. Katie attended the JR Rowing Coaches Conference in Saratoga Springs in Feb 2014 and the Craftsbury Sculling Clinic in August 2014.
